Food rations

Food rations are used when access to fresh food or meals made using traditional methods is limited or impossible. These circumstances may take place during field trainings or warfare, among others. Rations can also be used successfully for feeding civilians and emergency services in cases of natural disasters or other emergencies. Due to the nature of the tasks performed or the conditions present, we distinguish two types of food rations: individual and group.

Individual one-meal food ration

    • A set of products and accessories for one meal for one person in a plastic bag.
    • Shelf life: 24 months, when stored at 0 °C to 25 °C
      and relative humidity.
    • Energy value: 1200 – 1300 kcal, depending on the set.
    • Gross weight: about 850 g.
    • Dimensions: length 320 ± 10 mm, width 175 ± 10 mm
    • Preparation of hot meal: individual flameless
      heater or reusable flameless heater for meals

Individual 24-hour food ration

    • A set of products and accessories in a plastic package, which is full board for one person
    • Shelf life: 24 months, when stored at 0 °C to 25 °C and relative humidity.
    • Energy value: 3600-3800 kcal, depending on the set.
    • Gross weight: about 2100 g.
    • Dimensions: length 340 ± 10 mm, width 255 ± 10 mm
    • Preparation of hot meal: kit for cooking
      and heating meals.
    • Preparation of beverages: 1500 ml of water

Group food ration of 10 meals

    • Designed to provide a complete 24-hour nutrition for 10 people.
    • Group food ration 10 meals includes three sets (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
    • Each set (cardboard box) includes food products and accessories to facilitate the consumption.
    • Shelf life: 24 months, when stored at 0°C to 25°C and relative humidity.

The moisture content is reduced to 2%, which inhibits the action of microorganisms and enzymes. No preservations or artificial food-additives.

  • Meat product, type rillettes, obtained from minced duck meat (not less than 74%) mixed (or cooked) with fat, flavored spices and other permitted additives, fixed by sterilization in a hermetically sealed container.

    The minimum shelf life of duck pâté is at least 27 months when stored at 0°C to 25°C.

    Net weight of duck pâté: 78-100g.

Sous-vide

Sous-vide is a method of long-term cooking in vacuum-sealed plastic bags placed in water at a temperature of 55˚C to 85˚C, depending on the product. The purpose of the method is to preserve the natural taste and to bring out the full aroma of the dish.

  • Thanks to the sous-vide method, dishes have a richer taste, and the delicate structure of dishes affects their better digestion by human body. What is more, the food retains all nutritional values, vitamins and microelements, and food preparation saves necessary time, strength and resources.

    Sous-vide shock-frozen products have shelf life of 18 months from the date of production.

    Sous-vide chilled products have shelf life of 3 months from the date of production.

    At room temperature, products can be stored for 48 hours.

    Ways of heating sous-vide shock frozen products:

    • Immersion method in a pot or other vessel with water – 1 hour
    • Convection steam oven – 30 min
    • Steamer – 15 min
